No stripe, 1 stripe, 2 stripes

I am working on this quilt for the Doll Quilt 4 swap. So the big question is what one looks the best.

1. No stripe

2. one stripe.

3. Two stripes

The patchwork squares are 2". So they will loose a 1/2" in the seems when I sew them together.

The finished size will be around 1 1/2" for the patchwork squares. The quilt will be around 18" square.

No stripe. The stripe breaks up the composition. (I wrote that like I know what I am talking about.)

I was random blog searching recently, and found several artists (such as yourself) who were doing interesting things. Unfortunately, one was writing in German, the other in something I didn't recognize. Pretty language, but no information.

Anyway, no stripe.

Love you all. Phred.

can you try putting the strip around the top edge and the edge closest to the dear not the tree. I like them and the colour they add...but like the previous guy, they do break up the composition of the piece.

I think you do need something on the right side of the quilt, but I'm not loving the stripes, they don't seem to add to the picture. sorry no great advice about what to put there instead. Maybe another deer. Mama deer or something.

I just want to drop a line and let you know that I love the blog and I absolutely love this quilt! I love the way the stripe(s) bring out the deer detail though I don't know about the placement. Nevertheless, I say keep the stripe!

My daughter saw your deer quilt and loved it! She's four and not really into quilting but she asked to have one of these for herself. I think that's a compliment! It's a great idea and I can't wait to see it finished.

Hmmmm...love the colors that the strip adds...definitely not two...maybe this could be the border all the way around?

Hi, I like one stripe. It adds some colour and brightens up the area of blue.
It's really cute and will look lovely whatever you do!

For what it's worth, I LOVE the stripes...I'd take them where they are or around the edge...like the top edge and the right side edge.
I can't wait to see it finished!
