Ideas

I am think of doing a small craft fair at Maddie's school in December. I have been working on some small inexpensive things to sell. I have made up some checkbook covers and some card wallets. They are fun and don't take to long to make. But I need some more ideas. I need some kid things. I was thinking a few color pencil rolls and some crayon rolls but I am at a loss for other things. I just finished a baby quilt and I think I will do a few more. And maybe some small bags. Any more ideas for me?

Things

So, on my walk home from dropping Maddie off at school I was noticing some things.
* I miss trees. Real trees. there are trees in Texas but from a girl who grew up in the Redwood Forest in California they look like over grown bushes. So I miss real trees.
*There are no mountains. Here they have the Texas Hill Country. Well, in this house we call it the Texas Bump Country. Hill? Back home a Hill was when we were driving from Santa Cruz "Over The Hill" to San Jose http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Cruz_Mountains Wonderful highway 17 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_State_Route_17 I love that drive.
* Texas has more sky then I have ever seen.
* I can't get in my car, drive for ten minutes and see the Ocean. Not that I go into the ocean but I miss seeing it.

sick of being sleepy

It has been so busy. With school and taking care of kids I feel sleepy. And now everybody is fighting off a cold. That seems to equal grumpy kids and a lot more kid bickering. Maddie is moody and wanting to be left alone. Wyatt misses Madelyn so much when she is at school, he just wants to spend time with her when she comes home. This leads to her yelling at him and him crying because he feels left out. I don't know what to do about it.

Lucas just feels yucky this week and wants to be held. So not much has gotten done on the crafty end of things.

I was able to get this quilt top done. Now it has been added to the pile of quilts to get done before Christmas. I am very happy with how it turned out.

This is what my boys were up to when I was working on the quilt. The found a loose string in my blanket and tied it onto a chair. Then they spent a long time attaching Lego's to it. They were so proud of themselves.

Explore and Experiment

*I can never stand still. I must explore and experiment. I am never satisfied with my work. I resent the limitations of my own imagination* -Walt Disney

I feel this way all the time. My problem is I take on to much and I am never satisfied with what I end up with. Maybe I don't give myself enough credit, but still.

So the long check list has shrunk and now I need to make a big trip to the Post Office.

My 2 quilts for the mini quilt swap are done and packaged. I forgot to get a picture of the all by hand one. Oh well.

My Strawberry swap stuff is all packaged up and ready to go.

Today I finished my Doll Quilt 4 swap quilt. Thank goodness.

I am putting the binding on the Booty Swap quilt, so that should be done tomorrow.

I am almost finished with my Fairy Tale swap thing. A few more days and that will also be checked off.

So next it is on to my September mini quilt swap. I was able to pick the theme for September. Owls and Mushrooms it is. And my wonderful partner and I have all kinds of fun things plotted.

I am so happy to have you John.

This is Katy from http://www.imagingermonkey.blogspot.com/ and I having coffee together. We live way to far apart to really have coffee so I thought this was the next best thing. Thank you Katy for being a good friend. Maybe someday we can really share some coffee. I love You!
