what's your name fruithead

I am so tired I can't think of a good title.
What a busy week it has been. Well busy for a girl who stays home with kids and a sewing machine all week and doesn't venture out till the weekends. My Mom and Dad came for a visit this last week and we dropped them off at the airport just a few hours ago. So now we are home. The kids are sad but keeping themselves busy. We ran around all week.
It is funny how much of the city we saw when we first moved, but how much we still have to see.

The Japanese Tea Garden was a nice spot to run around. Although the kids were wondering were the tea was.

I got this wonderful quilt from the Miniature Booty swap from Colene. My two favorite colors. I love it Colene, Thank You so much. I took the picture then ran inside to hang it above my cutting table. It looks perfect.

It also reminds me to get mine finished and sent out. I am sure bad at the sending part. I have three packages ready and waiting to go to the Post office. This week, by Friday.

I finished a bag for my Grandma. She wanted something patchwork in black and white. So this is what I came up with. I think it turned out nice.

I hope to get a few things finished now that my company has gone home. I am on a strawberry hunt for the Strawberry Swap, I am reading Brothers Grimm tales for inspiration for the Fairy Tale Swap, I have a small quilt to work on for the Booty Swap, 2 quilts for the 6" Quilt swap and I need to finish the quilt for the Doll Quilt 4 swap. I may need to take a swapcation.

I love the bag you made for your grandma! It sounds like you had a busy week but a fun week with your family!
I think we're in all of the same swaps. Like you I'm desperately trying to finish up my 6 swaps before I head back to school in 2 weeks. I maybe taking a forced swapcation once I get back to work!

Wow! I was just going to ask where you took that picture and then read it was at the Japanese Gardens. It had been closed for a long time for renovation and just reopened this Spring. I heard it was beautiful but haven't had time to go...now I will!

If you like to take photos of places and flowers and waterfalls like that, there is a place out 281 North of 1604 where there is a new Super Target and a shopping center...ok, duh...281 North at Stone Oak Pkwy. There is also the GREATEST STARBUCKS there! But, right next to the Starbucks they've built a really beautiful area with a couple of waterfalls, stones and lots of flowers...actually, I found this one flower last night that I have NEVER seen before and I need to go back and take a picture of it. Are you in that part of town at all or anywhere remotely close?

OK-instead of leaving an email long comment, I'll go send you a novel length email! How's that? lol!

OH! And I LOVE your little flower pot quilt-my favorite colors, too. I would love to do a doll quilt swap with you sometime-if you ever have time...I like to collect them and have them hanging on my wall.yhw

That bag for Grandma turned out really great.

Jill is in 6 swaps? Crazy lady...I have 5 though, so I am not far behind. Does that mean I am also crazy? Probably.

Sounds like you had a great time with Mum. I keep telling myself I need to see more of the area I live in, most of it I haven't even driven through, let alone visited. (and I hate driving about at night too)
